FS: 1969 New York Mets Louisville Slugger black championship bat - ultra rare
This bat was given to my grandfather when he worked as an ad executive in New York.
From what I understand, H&B only makes 150 of these bats, mostly given to the players and their families as well as front office staff. Very few of these have come up for sale as a result; some comps are shown here. Bat is black and full size with gold facsimile signatures of players who had a contract with H&B and block letter names of those players who didn't. HOFers on this piece include Yogi Berra, Tom Seaver, and Nolan Ryan. The end of the bat barrel has some slight damage (my best guess is the damage came from my grandfather's move from NY to FL in the 70s, or from his home to the retirement community in the early 2000s...or from poor storage). Looking for $400 OBO shipped. Very open to best offers as my grandfather is in a position where he needs some money as his time winds down.
