I know very little about postcards. I am hoping for some help on these 3 postcards. What years are they from and their value. I've tried finding them on the internet with no success. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Sam Majors

Interesting...they appear to be real photo postcards with a back that was common in the 1940s-50s era. Of course they could have been made much later than that if someone still had the photographic postcard paper. I'd bet they are one of a kinds.

These are very interesting postcards. I have the one on the right--Mantle relaxing with his bat held in both hands. I also have a couple of different images with a similar look and feel. I have never seen them catalogued anywhere, and they do not appear in what I believe to be one of the better Mantle postcard guides. My hope when I purchased mine was that they were made in the 1960s. They do not necessarily appear to have been professionally cut--at least not mine--so they may not be a professionally produced item, so presumably they could have been released later. I believe I paid about $25 for the one with Mantle holding the bat, to the extent that is helpful in placing a value. My others were around that price or a little less. The lack of info/proof keeps the prices down on them, as there is always a chance they are a modern fantasy piece. Chris

It seems most postcards similar to the ones you have go for around $15 to $25 simply because "there is always a chance they are a modern fantasy piece." I haven't seen yours (that I can recall), but have picked up some other Mantle postcards of unknown origins for around $20. |

Thanks for the information. These were in one lot of mostly older college and golf postcards. Thanks again, Sam Majors

It's good to hear that they were with other older cards as that adds to the likelihood that they are older as well. They are cool pieces, and I would be a buyer for the two I don't have if you are ever selling.
