Default E95 Crawford color variation question

I just picked up this SGC 40 Crawford, and I've had the SGC 20 for awhile. The colors on both of these seem drab, or muted in comparison to all the other E95s in my collection. The SGC 50 was sold on ebay, and looks to be brighter and more vibrant (but it could just be an enhanced scan).

My question to you guys who have handled a lot of these cards over the years: Does Crawford vary in richness of color, or does it always tend to look a little washed out?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide some insight. I basically want to know if I should keep searching for one with richer, bolder colors, or just be happy with the one I have.

Mine's a little washed out too. I think that's the kind of the norm for this card, at least based on what I've seen.

e95 and e96 as a general rule, are relatively "clean" sets - meaning, you see very few printing flubs or variations out of these. I agree with your thoughts on the Crawford but I think there are several e95s that have a washed out look to them. Check out Matty and the Krause cards in particular. Those two are just as bad as Crawford!

The only true e95 color variation that I've come across is the neon-orange Cicotte shown here....I'd love to see others though if people have them.

I agree about Krause. Probably the most forgettable of all cards in the set. My Matty is one of my brightest, most vibrant cards imo. Your orange Cicotte is awesome.

Yep, that Matty looks like it still has a lot of color. I've seen others that look more faded though and posted one below.

On all the Matty's, it looks like the color completely disappears up towards the top of the card....kind of an interesting background gradient. I think maybe one of the reason the Matty always kind of looked like a faded card to me is the uniform. It's just the same whitish/light grey color all the way through and including the hat. Not a speck of color anywhere except for maybe the belt...heh

My Crawford is the same - pretty washed out in comparison to the other cards in the set.
