I wondered the same thing. I hope I'm not going out of bounds by saying this,
but I contacted the seller regarding this same issue. So he won't have to keep answering the same question, I'm going to post his response verbatim. Again, please forgive me if I'm overstepping the boundaries: "When lining the card up next to other 1914's the card looks the same. That being said, I won't guarantee that PSA or SGC won't deem it trimmed. If it is not trimmed, the card looks like a 5 or 6 with no creases, good centering and corners." ErikV |

Hi all. I am the seller of this card. I lean toward this card being trimmed though it does look like it does match up. The previous owner stated that he thought it might be trimmed but couldn't be sure. I have had no success in dealing with PSA and just flat out refuse to give them anymore of my business. Hope this helps.

JR and AJ,
Maybe introductions are in order. I have e-mailed back and forth with both of you on Cracker Jacks. I trust you will have a good relationship going forward. I still tend toward not trimmed. |

It is still a beautiful looking card. I am concerned about the upper left corner.
I would love to upgrade my Knetzer example. |

James,
Good luck. I do not submit cards for grading, but if you would like to submit the card that is of course your choice. |

J.R. nice to meet you officially on the board. Hope you didn't take offense to posting the card here from eBay as I was just curious on what consensus thought about it being trimmed and wasn't calling you out at all. Your listing was very honest and up front about possibility of being trimmed.
cheers, A.J. |

The only thing that looks possibly trimmed is the lower right corner (rear view).

I thought I could post this to the same thread, since the topic is identical....
Please let me know your thoughts on the pictured 1914 CJ Zimmerman. My eye tells me there is a sign of a trim to the top border, with a bit of a wave to it. But when I held it up to a couple of other '14 CJ's I have (both graded), the size seems to line up the same. So, my question (and I'm not too well versed on these, so please forgive me if it's obvious): could the waviness I am seeing at the top be attributed at all to the delicate thin nature of these cards? Is it possible it's not trimmed along the top, based on what you see here? Any feedback would be most appreciated - thanks! |

Knetzer: likely not trimmed
Zimmerman: BADLY and very obviously trimmed. Looks like by maybe the hedge trimmer? ![]() mike PS: The top border on Zimmerman looks a little like Route 66. Bumpy and dangerous! ![]() Last edited by vthobby; 07-16-2014 at 07:34 PM. |
