Default On this date , June 15, 1902

On June 15, 1902, Nig Clarke of Corsicana of the Texas League, took advantage of a small park and he hit eight (yes 8) Home Runs as they defeated Texarkana 51-3. Eight HR's in 1902 !!!
Note: In 9 major league seasons he hit 6 home runs.
Happy Fathers Day !

Default Source Please?

Mike - I hope that you are getting your information from The Encyclopedia of Minor League Baseball.

I love that book! However, the newer hardback edition leaves out all the 'this day in the minor leagues' notes...which is so full of great stories.

I had sold my paperback copy with all the stories when I had the new one on the way. I had to scramble and find another copy...so now I have both.

I HIGHLY recommend this book to all - it contains the most 'new' information and lore I had 'soaked up' since the original Bill James Abstract.
