A quick internet search revealed absolutely no photos or any advertising piece for this issue. There had to be some and I would be quite interested just to be able to see them, we have the small sample of writing on the back and the overprint from what I know only. Any thoughts as I rarely wander the path of advertisements...

The catalog referenced above is from august 2012, a private sale event described as a near master set. PM me if you like me to send you my copy, i do not collect them and just thought it was a nice catalog. It does have some historical information in the beginning.

No ads, but that's really the point. It describes how they were id'd and it was not a simple process based on finding ads.

Steven,
It seems as if information about Breisch-Williams is pretty illusive. Here's a post from 2004 that you may want to take a look at: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=65803 While there are no advertisements included in it, issue #4 of Old Cardboard Magazine contains a 6-page article about the E107 Breisch-Williams card set. Best of luck to you, ErikV |

Tricky to find anything on them. I think this is Leon's?

Hey Chris
Yes, that envelope is one I picked up along the way. I can't say I have seen too many Breisch Williams ads or ad pieces. Of course some of their cards have the scarce Breisch Williams purple overprint (as seen below) but there just isn't much out there. Also, some folks think the type 2 cards Tenney below) were cut off an advertisement or box. And lastly, I think it's Brian McQueen who came up with something, fact or theory, that might have related Breisch to Oxford Confectionery. ![]()

There is a long chain of ownership and names for the various companies in the Lancaster, PA area, Williams, Breisch, Oxfords, etc all are companies intertwined and evolved from the 1890's thru the early 20th century. However no specific advertising has been found for Breisch-Williams, however they are mentioned in newspaper accounts of the day.
