That is a cool picture. The first games I went to as a kid were at Griffith Stadium. I remember that corner. Virtually no foul territory. |

I believe that when the Yanks played in the Polo grounds Babe often played center field as he had a habit of running into the short left and right field walls.

I find something else in the picture very interesting. As a studier (is that a word?) of Negro League history, DC was an epicenter of change some years later with Homestead and DC negro league teams pulling more fans than the Senators (Sometimes 40,000 to 20,000 easy), interesting to note the African/American fans in the stands at such volume....some 20 years before the economic impacts were truly felt
