Wow. They did a very quick restoration. Purchased, received, restored, regarded, and sold in about 6 weeks. Check out how the UR corner of the second example went from a bump to a fuzzy corner.

I'm sorry, but anybody that can look at a thread like this and still submit cards to PSA has absolutely no moral conscience.

I wonder if PSA's site would welcome a thread like this!

I may be a minority but exactly what do you find wrong with the cards? I do not see that either was trimmed, had a cleaning agent applied, had color added or had a crease pressed after being removed from the original holder.

Jim,

The first card had a mark erased and re-submitted to PSA for a higher grade. They should have detected that alteration. Stevie Wonder can see that erasure mark.

The second card has been trimmed to enhance the appearance.

If nothing else, PSA has the ability to determine who submitted those cards and ban them from ever submitting again.

New to the board, and getting back to collecting after a 15 year hiatus...so, for pre-war cards, it seems SGC is the preferred grader on this board? Is it a legitimate conspiracy theory that PSA, or other grading companies, look the other way on certain altered cards? I have no allegiance or affiliation with any grading company. I have submitted about 30 cards to PSA (post-war), and quite frankly, I think they were pretty spot on... Seems like an impossible task for a grading company to know if they have graded a card previously, unless it were given an invisible mark or something of the sort.

Thanks everyone-Rob

I think it depends on the submitter. The PSA apologists call it a conspiracy theory, but the facts certainly speak for themselves. You might want to check out this thread...
