Has anyone else had trouble with eTopps taken in-hand?
To make a long story short (as short as possible), I took my entire portfolio of around 1300 cards in hand at the end of April which cost me just under $1,000 with the Topps "discounted" shipping for them to be delivered without cases.
The cards were received very well packaged. Around 70% of the cards were perfect, or near perfect condition. Razor-sharp edges and corners, flawless photo and gloss, mint to gem mint condition. The problem was the other 30% that had nice corners and edges, but they looked like they were used to play 52-card pickup. With scratches and scuffs galore, it was very easy for me to be disappointed as this did not fit the "stored at our warehouse for safe keeping" claim since at least 2002 that they had posted on the eTopps website. These were presented as cutting-edge, top of the line product...and with the average price per card at IPO being in the $5.50 to $6.00 range, should have been and treated as such. Topps has been giving me the run-around for the past 2 months and are now willing to exchange 50 of the nearly 400 cards I have issue with. I feel like it is a slap in the face, personally. I have sent them pictures on 2 occasions and they consider the damage as "negligible, at best". Has anybody else had this issue? Were my expectations of the cards too high? I have read mixed reviews on Topps customer service, so I'm not surprised. I was just curious as to other people's experiences with Topps on eTopps products..... This link is to the pics I shared with Topps: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t1rx2nvuli...%20photos2.zip Thoughts??? If any of the Topps drones are reading this, please feel free to explain to me how this is acceptable.... Sincerely yours, Anthony Schleppy Last edited by amschleppy; 07-29-2013 at 09:05 PM. |

eTopps
I have not done the eTopps thing but I would keep negotiating. I am not sure of all the nuances buti would be tempted to have an attorney friend write a strongly worded letter.
Best of luck, Z Wheat |
