It's not a sports auto but hoping some people here can help. This auto is on an index card and came in a large trade a while back. Knowing Disney autos are often bad, I haven't added it to my collection until I can get expert opinions on it. So, would anyone salute if I ran it up a flag pole? Thanks.

I am not at home so I can't check my exemplars, but I am almost positive this is secretary signed or not legit at all. It has the artistic draw feel to it, disney himself signed his signature artistically but very rapidly. The person to go to on this if you can't get a good feel for it is Phil Sears, he only does Disney signatures and could likely tell you in a matter of seconds if it is secretary signed. I think he has an option to email him a scan for a small fee and he will review it. I have dealt with him twice before and he is very easy to work with.

ATP - You're right, no good.
Steve - I sent a scan to Phil Sears and he said no good. Thank you for the link. Thank you both. No surprise about the authenticity and best to know than to wonder. |

Sorry to hear that. Did he elaborate on whether it was a secretary or a malicious forgery? Just curious...

That's too bad, Disney is great autograph to have. I sold two in the last year and kind of wish I had kept one. The more I look at this one, I don't think it is secretarial as it doesn't feel like a Moore or Porter signing (the two Disney artists who regularly signed for him), my guess would be more of a malicious intent. If you really want a Disney and you are patient, every once in awhile you find a signed bank check at a decent price on eBay, but you usually have to act fast because Disney is popular world wide so there is always a lot of demand.
