Leon started a thread ~3 weeks ago about Crazy Zeenut prices, looking at prices of two Zeenut with coupons that popped over $400- each on Ebay.
There was a spate of non-couponed Zeenuts that got pretty aggressive prices over the last forty-eight hours on Ebay as well: This Lot with two Earl Averill rookies, went for $1,000. Those hoping that a spelling error in the title would deter bidders were wrong. This lot with a Lefty O'Doul with a penned face on the back commanded nearly $300- This lot with a really beat up Lazzeri and another O'Doul fetched $449- Finally, this lot, with a third O'Doul from the same seller, fetched $287 -- showing a strong and consistent demand for the O'Doul cards across all three auctions. Incidentally, all of these strong finishes were via snipe. The Averill auction was at $67- on the day of the auction, and at less than $200- in the final three minutes, before at least six snipers participated (and a few additional people shut out, based upon the timing of their snipes) |

I'm not an expert, but from what I've seen, those prices don't really seem out of line. The two Averills look pretty nice... The Averills I've come across lately have been pretty ugly.

Clean Sweep sold this 2 in October for $400-, as a point of comparison, price-wise and condition-wise.
I don't think the price was "crazy", but I think it was fairly valued. My overall point as compared to the other thread was that Zeenuts that are rare, in high demand, or have coupons all seem to do pretty well as of late- Last edited by philliesphan; 01-04-2013 at 01:06 PM. |

I can't speak for cards that aren't LA players, but for what I'm looking for, not many pop up for auction on eBay.
I know if any 1921 "common" pops up that I need, I'll be setting a high snipe. Hopefully they'll come up with BIN prices ![]() -Matt BTW - The Averill in Clean Sweep was nice too. When I first moved into my new place I didn't have a land line for about six months. I tried to sign up for CS and couldn't at the time because of that, and haven't since. I keep a basic land line for emergency purposes but many younger people I know don't even bother anymore, especially if they don't have a long established home number. I've always assumed this affects some of the lower end auctions in CS. It sure did when I couldn't register. For comparison, a fair example sold for $537 in Legendary in March 2012. |

I was the under-bidder on the two Eatl Averill's lot. The second one would have been an upgrade for me (which I had purchased for @ $500 in early 2012).
If I hadn't bid the winner would have had an absolute STEAL at $405!! Sorry to whoever beat me (if it's a fellow board member). If it's a dealer/ card flipper, you got what you paid for!! I might add that the 1925 o'Doul / Lazzeri went for crazy prices. Whoever listed these had an o'Doul in 1/3 of the auctions!

I remember when I got these two several years ago from Scott Gaynor for under $200.00 for the pair on eBay:
