Storage safe again

I know the subject has been discussed in this forum, but I can't find the right thread. In any case, I'd like some fresh information

I have lots of graded cards which I'd like to keep in a safer place. As I recall, many members have solved this problem with storage safes. Who makes the best large capacity storage safes? Equally, which should I avoid?

I went through buying a safe a while back. I read lots about different safes and there good and bad points. The video is a great start. The thing you need to decide is do you want one for security only or for fire protection also. Most of the safes on the market that have some fire protection are rated for 1,2,or 3 hour protection with the inside staying at 350 degrees or less. To me they are great for guns, jewelry, and coins.IMO I dont think they are good for cards though. The reason being penny sleeves and binder pages are made of polypropylene and it melts at 265 degrees, all over the cards. Slabs and card savers are made of better plastics and melt around 450 degrees. Still a little close for me. Media safes are rated at 150 degrees and are also sealed from water. So when the fireman drown your house putting out the fire, water want ruin the cards. The problem with large media safes are they get very very pricey.
