Looks more like a very thin layer of paper loss

You know, the letters "M", "I", and "D" are just not that interesting. As a prewar card junky, those letters don't do much for me. Perhaps, we can debate the merits of paper loss, but in my opinion the seller is really missing the boat. That T206 Schmidt is actually a rare partial comma!!!
Whoa! Much more fascinating. Is a comma actually considered a letter? If it is not a letter, why is it on a typewriter/keyboard? Is a T206 partial comma a period or is a dot? If neither, does it then become a strange alien like mark? Is it legal to assume a partial comma as a period/dot? Which part of a T206 comma gets printed first, the upper half or lower half? What is an Oxford comma? Can a comma be inverted? Is a partial comma even possible on a 19th century press? Were some T206 press operators aliens? How many T206 cards exist with partial inverted commas? As you can see, a partial comma opens-up an incredible can of worms and the questions are endless..... Lovely Day... I started a similar thread about a year ago (actually almost exactly a year ago) on a card I had. Sullivan. In it, I also found reference to another thread the year prior. It's like looking into a mirror with a mirror behind you.
Anyway, many of these things are out there if you look closely enough... http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=135461 |

Might as well bring this up again. A period before and after the name. Haven't seen another one like this. Anyone have one?

You would need to find several more exactly like it to compare it to the broken plate Nodgrass with partial right side of the S
