Hi Guys,
I picked up a lot of cards recently some of which were taped into an album at one point. The cards are Topps from the mid-late 1950's and have yellow tape residue on the borders. Is there any effective way to remove the residue? Thanks in advance for any input. |

Does it appear to be a gum-based residue?

My best shot would be Bestine. It removes tape and stickers find. I have a feeling once it has yellowed, it is pretty well changed the makeup of the paper and you will be just as well to either learn to love it or invest in a real restoration expert and all that entails (cost, ethical considerations).

That Walsh portrait looks good even with tape on it, IMO.
