Default Pray for my family and myself.

Good evening from the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. I am an intermittant voyer of net 54 and you may know me for My Elmer Miller cards I have been collecting. A month ago I suffered a spinal cord stroke in Tucson, Arizona. I an now in my fourth hospital and am in rehab at the Mayo Clinic. I have started to walk in parallell bars and a walker but am slow to go. Seem to be improving slowly but have a long road before me. Please pray for my recovery and for my family. Regards

Kmac

scarry part is I will be 50 this month and was healthy. Thought it was a heart attack at first and was misdiagnosed at a local hospital as Gillian Barre syndrome. I am numb from the top of my chest on down, weak in the hands, and left leg is also weak. Making some recovery but slow to go. Life can deal you some pretty rough cards at times. Every day should be counted as a blessing and never take your mobility for granted. I love this forum and am trying to stay positive. My wife knows to contact Leon if we have a worst case senario. Never take anything for granted.

Ken,

Keep the faith. I had Guillain Barre Syndrome, with near total paralysis, and made full recovery, I think that most people do. It's scary but you should be fine.

Default Good Luck Ken

I was born with spina bifida, and have spent 28 of my 35 years in a wheelchair, so I know what its like to deal with some of what you are going through. If you need a friend to talk to, PM me and I can send you my #. Take care, and my prayers are with you!

My thoughts and prayers go out to you Ken. Hang in there. I have read your posts over time and you seem like a really nice guy. Were the same age and I live less then an hour from Mayo. In fact, I was in Rochester a couple of times this weekend. Your in good hands at the Mayo. Get better soon.

Best wishes Ken for a speedy recovery. You're at the Mayo Clinic and it can't get much better than that for treatments!
