Jake, you should post this on the main board. The B/S/T is the wrong section for your questions.

This is a question for the main board so I moved it. I guess part of the answer will depend on what intersests you. There are obvious places to get Ruth cards and, if just starting out, it might be good to get a graded one (though then you can't touch and feel it) or make sure you buy from someone reputable. Most folks on this board would be fine to buy from, through our BST areas. regards

I know you said 20s, but the printing technology is just such that there weren't a lot of eye-popping cards from about 1920-30...when I wanted a Ruth, I picked up a nice lower grade Goudey. It's just the kind of thing that shows better, IMO>

Exhibit cards of Ruth might not be a bad way to start too. They aren't too expensive, relative to others, and look nice..

I decided long ago my collection would not be complete without a card of the Babe. I finally picked one up just two days ago. I looked at the various 1920s issues and came to the conclusion that I liked the 1933 Goudeys much better than any of them. Last week, I came across a 1934 Goudey premium and realized that not only does it look as good as any of the Goudeys, but it costs less ...
