Default Help to identify this set ?

Any help indentifying this would be appreciated. This set is complete at 188 images. All but 10 of these are glued to a scrapbook as the title to one of the images states. The firts card/image in the set is Babe Ruth and set includes all the major stars of the 1930's ??. The cards/images are newspaper stock and cut out from such. Thanks ahead of time for any help, Jeff W

My guess on year of issue: 1934-35 for obvious reasons

Never have seen these before. Certainly a neat promotional effort to sell newspapers. How do you know the set is complete @ 188?

I am not sure. The scrap book has 176 images glued to it, along with the loose images (highest # 188) and plenty of pages in the scrapbook, I am just guessing.
Thanks, Jeff W

Default Jeff---

The reason I asked was because I was doing some math that didn't work for 188 images but it does work for 190 images. (or a even 200!)

2 images a day = 95 newspapers. Say they were issued 5 days a week that's exactly 19 weeks of daily papers.

Using 188 does not come out even for 4-5-6-or 7 days a week!

200 images would be an even 20 weeks of daily papers.

I do not remember the exact items but I do own a Gehrig and a Klein for this set. I want to say it was a Detroit publication but not sure.
