Some of you may recall that dozens of cards were stolen from my home in a burglary more than five years ago. Most of those were recovered, miraculously, and the burglar was convicted. One of the few that remained lost popped up on ebay a little more than a week ago, with a seller from right here in Phoenix. Long story short, I got it back, and I want to thank those that made the card's return a reality, specifically:
1. Mike Wheat, who provided me an old receipt to show when I originally purchased the card in 2000; 2. Brian Dwyer and the folks at SGC, who provided receipt information from when I submitted the card for grading so long ago; 3. Phoenix PD, for their suggestions and willingness to act if I could not get satisfaction on my own; and, 4. C&C Coins, the seller and a local business of 2-3 generations, whose people were very understanding and who, upon reviewing my "evidence", agreed to return the card. I now have back my very own Hoblitzell no stats ![]() ![]() |
