Default SGC 40 N172 Kelly

http://cgi.ebay.com/1887-N172-OLD-JU...item2eabdc550c

Should this card be in an SGC 40 holder and, better still, why is there so much room between the black insert and the card?

Is that frosting along the upper left edge of the case? Could the case have been cracked open and a lesser card inserted?

I don't own any graded cards but have seen plenty on this board and on eBay. To me, THAT listing looks fishy and I don't see how it got out of SGC with so much open space around the card.

Default Hmmmm....

If that is, in fact, the card that "earned" the original grade, the grade is exceedingly generous.

Kevin,

That's a pretty good observation. I saw the card and thought it was a generous grade but you're right, that's a lot of space between the card and the black insert. Usually SGC is pretty good about keeping a snug fit between the card and insert.
