Default T206 Cobb Reprint (On What Used To Be A Great Site...)

I sure hope a rookie doesn't get burned by this fake T206 Cobb. The bidding history has all the earmarks of pork (I mean....shilling).

Did you see the 1933 Goudey Nap Lajoie he also sold? Check through his feedback. Won't take long. It's only at 12.

--Update on the Ty Cobb he is selling. I asked him a question about his Ty Cobb card and immediately got this reply:

Dear jb217676,

IT DOESNT SAY REPRINT ON IT ANYWHERE I WAS TOLD IT WOULD SAY THAT IF IT WAS.

Default Contacting scammed buyers

Is it appropriate to contact the winner of the Lajoie card and tell them that they bought a reprint the seller paid only $9.99 for on Dec 27?

I would and I've contacted scammed winners in the past. All scammed winners I've contacted have either got there money back or are in the process of doing so.

Jeremy Padilla is actually Jeremy Markell.
http://www.whig.com/Markell-Theft--TUES

I'm a noob and got burned, tried to do due diligence but PayPal didn't tell me his real name until after....sad that some people exist as criminals and never learn. Sad also that ebay and paypal do nothing to prevent this from happening.

That Jeremy name sounded familiar. Apparently that "Quincy eBay" story has been discussed on this forum in the past...

Regrettably, eBay scammers are a dime a dozen. I'm sorry you lost some money, but here is a similar eBay horror story that was recently in the local papers...

I thought ebay required that anyone selling a red Cobb as an original could only do so if it was graded, not raw? Or has ebay done away with this rule?

Thanks iggyman, that other story clearly is a horror show. This is all my fault, I learned a lesson, and I'm definitely old enough to know better. Wish I knew about this site before......
