Anyone else watch this show last night? Had the old couple who sold the Peck and Snyder on there. Also some other interesting stories like a guy who found one of the 200 Decleration of Independence copies in a Thrift store for $2.48. Pretty cool show. Comes on TLC at 10 on Wednesdays.

Yeah I saw it. That $410,000 for the copy of the Dec of Ind was a pretty good return on $2.48. Minus the seller's premium of course!

That was great but the $600K for the free mastodon wasn't to shabby. And that find created a thriving business by chance that continues to generate money.

I missed the show and the replays. I hope I get to see it next week. I need to be reminded.

I just finished watching that episode.
All of the stories were very interesting, especially the town that cashed in on the meteorite shower. |

That Dec. of Indep. was bought at a thrift store just a few miles down the road from me. I did not get a chance to see the TLC show, but I wonder if they told the story behind the story ? (That is, the person who also owned that Dec. of Independance and donated to the thrift store, before this gentleman bought it for $2.48?) In case they did not, here is some good reading :
http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/...laration_x.htm * Amazing that two times this Original copy passed through hands right here in Nashville. I suppose if this guy bought it at a estate or garage sale, then it passed through those folks hands as well, making it 3 parties including the thrift store who let "it" get away ! By the way - Where this doc was found (Donelson) is just a few miles from The Hermitage / Old Hickory Estate of Andrew Jackson. Happy Holidays, JJ
