Hey guys, I just found this forum and this is my first post here. I normally trade and sell with newer cards on other forums and boards but I would like to try and move this one here seeing as this is right up you guys alley. It is an 1888 Old Judge Mcphee. I have attached some scans of the cards so you guys can get a good look at it. I am not looking to trade but just sell. Also, any advice on the best grading company for this? Thanks!

Josh,
You are new to the board, presumably no one here knows you or has done business with you, and your first thread is on selling a rare and valuable card. If this is legitimate, I suggest that you send the card to SGC for grading and submit to a known auction house. It is unlikely you will sell it here. Without more information, your post is likely to be viewed with skepticism. |

I knew by it being my first post it would raise some skeptics. I buy and sell a lot on ebay jdubbs10, Beckett - jdubbs10, sportscardforum.com - jdubbs10 and a couple others.
I have never got a card graded and i wanted to make sure that with this one i get it done by the best. Can people speculate on what it would grade based on the scans? thanks guys Quote:

Based on the writing I would guess it's going to get a 20. This card would defy the grade and sell for a price more akin to a 40 or 50, but unless you can get rid of the skepticism you need to have it graded and sent to an auction house OR be willing to show it to a board member who can vouch that you have it in your possession (picture laying on top of todays newspaper is good too). There are board members all over the US and Canada.

Mile High sold a 20 last year for around $4,000. REA sold a 40 two years ago for around $7,000.

Also, i have done some research on the card, but have not found a lot of info on it. What is the scarcity of the card? any advice on sending the card to get it graded? (if someone can break down the process for me) I would hate to compromise the value of the card by sending it in, in a way that would hurt it.
