Cleveland Indians Ticket
Just got this in the mail, as part of a multi-item lot. Any ideas as to age? I was told it is 1910's, but $1.00 seems like a lot for grandstand admission back then.
It's relatively big - fits snugly in a tobacco card top loader.

Hi Scott,
This grandstand ticket definitely is later than the 1910's. My best guess is it's from the 1930's to early 1940's, although I encourage others to chime in. |

It was part of a Legendary vintage hat lot that included a couple of Reach A.A. pins as well. I collect old hats, so this was a good cross-over item.

Scott,
The ticket is from a game played at League Park. The tickets from Cleveland Stadium were of a different style - longer / thinner. The Indians played their last games in League Park in the 1946 season. When Bill Veeck bought the team they moved for good to Cleveland Stadium. I have a grand stand ticket stub from Cleveland Stadium that shows Veeck as team president (he took over in 1947) and it has a price of $1.20. I'd say yours in certainly a 1940's stub. From 1927 to 1946
Alva Bradley (1884 March 30, 1953, in Delray Beach, FL), aka Alva Bradley II, was a businessman and baseball team executive.
Bradley was born to a wealthy family in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of M.A. Bradley and grandson of his namesake, Captain Alva Bradley. He graduated Cornell in 1908. He was president of the group that bought the Cleveland Indians in 1927 for $1 million, and which in 1946 sold the team to Bill Veeck |

Thanks guys - I suspected as much. Probably a dumb buy, but I can't resist an oddball hat.
