The one that got away...
What was the good investment you made, held too long and is now virtually worthless?
I picked up 800 Tommy Gregg rookies for .10 each. He went on an early season tear and I could have easily gotten $1 each out of them. Now they are virtually worthless. To make matters worse, he snubbed me for an autograph as a minor league coach. One of the favorite cards I own is a Ryan Leaf 1/1 Flair rookie. I got if for $20. The guy had turned down $1200 for it at one point. |

Don't think I have too many of those where it's turned out badly. Usually I'm selling at the right moment, sold a Mike Trout 09 Chrome signed rookie for a ton, and paid next to nothing for it last year.
My Mauer collection consists of about 400+ autographed rookie cards, yes mainly from 2001-2002. He has given me a scare more than once with him being on the HOF path, then off, now it seems like he's back on again thank God. |
