cool pickup! I have one myself. I wonder why all such cards have orange instead of red backgrounds? When I purchased mine years ago I thought I was getting a rare color variation.

Agreed Phil. This is the third Hindu Buehler Bros. I've seen. I like to think the brothers were kids that collected together as the examples I've seen include Hindu, Piedmont, Sweet Cap, Old Mill and even an E98. I'd expect a regular smoker to stick to one main brand if he collected the cards.

Scott, I hope you don't mind I added your stamp to my project/website.

Great start to the month- seems t206 is all the rage.

Should arrive in a few days. When cards get crazy expensive but the addict in you can’t help himself, buy Ruth (safest option in this crazy market)

Pete, I was actually going to start a thread about this recently. I think the Brown ink used on the Hindus might have something to do with why so many Orange instead of Reds are found on the Hindu's.

The Red color is by far the color that is most effected by chemicals and sunlight on T206's and I think that's what happened with the Hindu's depending on the conditions
(how dry the fronts were and atmosphere conditions etc....) when the backs were printed. I don't know anything about the inks used but I thought maybe
there was a different chemical used in the Brown Hindu ink.

Nice Phil. I like the color fade on the Tinker, and of course the Cobb is fantastic.

Thanks, Phil, nice cards this month all, even the w9316 or whatever they are called. I have one as a type and actually like the artwork on them. I think they call it post-impressionist.

Thanks Josh, I love when a card like that takes a grading hit for whatever reason, keeps it reasonably priced. I think its the white spot on the right hand side and/or what looks like printing registration marks mid border. For me, the card hits everything important to me, centering, color, and registration.

That's a great point and I feel same. You get all the all the feeling you would get from a higher graded card at a better price point.

Just picked up a group of these Casey at the bat ink blotters….believed to be from about the 1930’s or so.

A couple pick ups from REA.

Both of these were picked up for their reverses.

Nice wrong back and a tough black 30 T202.

An online auction find;

Diamond Matchbooks:

U1 - Silver Border - 1934
Billy Herman
Earl Adams
Richard Gyselman

U3-1 - 1935
Bill Urbanski

The Herman is rough with pockmarks as if it was stepped on in the gravel, but at the end of the day its still a period piece of a HOF'er.

How do you do that, not collect matchbooks with strikers? I personally can't collect them unless the strikers are still attached. LOL

Otherwise, great pickup, really love those silver border matchbooks. Way under appreciated as collectibles.

I’ve finally picked up my first two T206 cards (3 more currently on the way). Going to work on collecting Tigers for now as I make my way up to a Cobb.

Got these 2 awesome T210s in the mail this morning thanks to a trade with a fellow member. The Weeks gets me to within 5 cards of the Ft Worth team set. Plus who doesn't need a T210 Jackson in their collection.

Default First Pre-War Card

Thanks to everyone on this forum for sharing your knowledge. I began collecting again during Covid and this forum is the best place on the internet. I initially began with a focus on the 1950s but after seeing so many great prewar threads on here I finally made my first prewar purchase last week. Thanks again for the knowledge you all share.

Nice pick up Brad and welcome to pre-war collecting. As Dante wrote "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here".
