Default RIP Cobra

Glad Dave Parker got the HOF recognition before he died. He was a bad ass in three different decades.

Last year I wanted to get a card signed by the Cobra and thought this Topps card caught the cool factor of the '70s.

While unfortunately light on details of his post-Pirates/Reds career, I definitely recommend his bio, "Cobra." The dude sure loved his teammates.

+1

I just wish they had let Luis Tiant, Jr. in too.

I was fortunate to meet him at a banquet in January of 2009 & he signed a few items for me:

Pirates. What a man! What a year! RIP Mr Parker

One of the things I liked most in reading his bio was that after Dock Ellis took him to buy a nice suit as a rookie, he did the same for other rookies throughout his career. Of course none of them looked as fly as him and Dock.
