1927 Barnstorming Tour - Ruth in California
Hello! I'm tracking a piece of history that I have from the 1927 Barnstorming Tour with Ruth/Gehrig. Its a Ruth/Gehrig/Lefty O'Doul signed baseball with the inscription of "Hit Into Our Yard, Oct. 23, 1927" via PSA.
I've been looking at aerial photos and researching whether this ball could have originated from the morning game at the Oakland Oaks park or the afternoon game at Recreation Field in San Francisco. If anyone is an expert on the Barnstorming tour or the Oaks and Rec field please let me know as I would love to know more about where this ball could have realistically landed to gain the inscription. Jane Leavy has been a big help with her recent book and believes it may have come from Oakland but I cannot seem to find any photos or knowledge of what was beyond the fences of that park circa 1927.
