So far the only pre-war or vintage card purchases I've found are T206's and the majority of them are previously confirmed signed subjects.
I'm posting scans so people can check their collections and also keep an eye out for any fakes that might come up for sale. I will add any new ones that I find in this thread. The date of purchase is listed with each card. None of these have been confirmed with fake signatures yet. I've been searching for Crawfords for 2 days now. I just know he did a Crawford. How could you forge over a dozen T206 cards and not do a Wahoo? He signed a ton TTM. It's an obvious choice.
Another possibility is that these were either rejected by the TPAs or the forger screwed them up and never submitted them. Last edited by SetBuilder; 12-04-2018 at 05:35 PM. Reason: Nevermind, I didn't see the Warhop. |

Let me also mention that this guy likes buying unsigned vintage baseballs in original boxes (I wonder why...)
I found these. Have these come up for auction recently signed? BOLO for these RPB-3 Haiti balls with big ticket sigs: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthoped...lls-1737781130. Last edited by SetBuilder; 12-04-2018 at 05:45 PM. Reason: grammar |

Really surprised he would use cards that have backs with such severe identifiable damage. Wouldn't that make it easier for someone to do even the simplest of research and determine that exact card existed just a bit ago without a signature. Doesn't make much sense to me when so many other non-descript cards of the same subject are readily available.

What a busy little bee...so much more profitable than printing fake $100 bills....and so much easier to pass on to others...

Its ridiculous that even a tpg wouldn't glance through the closed sales
They all deserve at least one dope slap off the head

The Parent may just need a good soaking, but the others may be practice. Only 2 others with back damage.
My concern is some of these have already came out as signatures that were forged, like the Parent. How many cards are now lost to the machine of forgery or “practice”?? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I know, right? I posted the other day in the main thread that I was astonished how little effort goes into actually authenticating or documenting what goes through their hands. The information they have not kept alone would be worth millions.

I think (am not positive) JSA will take pictures of potential high dollar items that do not pass authentication. I wonder if they have a large data base of these rejections.

I know Mike Root takes pictures of inauthentic autographs that he doesn't have on file.

The fact that he was planning to attempt to forge a Jack Warhop is crazy, he is a rare signature and from what I am aware, only signed a a handful of items through the mail after his career was over.
