1886 Philadelphia Quakers
I would like to introduce you to the 1886 Philadelphia Quakers, including Harry Wright and many well-known 19th century players that you will recognize from N172, N162, and others sets.
My question: Does anyone recognize the hand writing on this piece? I know that is an extreme long shot, but I figured I'd ask. The back is blank save for "Phil. 1886" written in pencil. Thanks

Neat image Bryan. That's not an image of that team that I've ever seen before. Do you have some closer images? Is that a later reprinted version? From the view on my computer it doesn't have that "original" feel of an albumen-mounted cabinet card.

I agree. Super cool image though.

Thanks guys. I know very little about photos but it feels old to me. Here is a better image:

It looks like a reprint of a period photo

What are the signs that this might be a reprint of a vintage photo? I am new to the world of photos.
I might be going to the National this summer, perhaps I will try to bring this with me for some in person advice.

I think it could also be a collotype photo, not saying it is, but there are a few very nice ones. DRCY is the expert, he will probably weigh in.

Thanks for all of the assistance.
It is definitely a single piece of paper, not mounted. The front has a sheen and I can't make out any paper fibers.

Taken during the same year. Not meaning to hijack this thread, but I just love posting my "Coach Wright!"
