Default Another Philly Show....another group of T205 DRUM's

Hanging next to Ron Oser (Lengendary Auctions) is always a hoot. Our booths are adjacent at the Philly show. I have
known Ron since 1980 when I met him at the Montclair State College (NJ) BB card show. We have grown old together
in this hobby.

Friday nite at the Philly show a guy walked in with an eclectic group of 400+ T-cards. He walked it around and ended
up at Ron's booth. Ron and I sorted through all of these cards and Ron bought them. The majority of the cards in this
collection consist of an assortment of 375 T205's, T206's and OBAK's. Additionally, the star cards are......

T205 and T206 Cobb (red)

18 - T205 and T206 HOFer's

T206 DRUM's (Pfeister and Rucker)

and the following T205 DRUM's......

Austin
Chase
Knight
Lord
Olmstead
Payne
Quinn

Furthermore, two great pitchers were signing at the show......

Bob Feller is 91 years old and very robust looking for his age. It would not surprise me if he can still go to the mound
and pitch a few innings.

Jim Bunning is 77, and looks good enough to pitch his 3rd no-hitter. Bunning signed for 160 fans (the highest number
of signings for the weekend, and twice that of Ripken).

While, no one would dare compare Bunning with Feller, their numbers are astonishingly close......17-18 year careers,
3.25 ERA's. Bunning's W-L is 224-184 while Feller's W-L is 266-162. However, Bunning has a considerable edge in the
K's/BB stat with 2855/1000 to Feller's 2581/1764.

Whats wrong with Jim Bunning? Just because he doesn't want OUR hard earned money going to extend peoples unemployment benefits....? I should hope all of those Senators would go over how our tax money is spent as well as Bunning. If you keep extending unemployment....people will keep what they are doing .....sitting back collecting the governments ( my portion ) money..

Default agree with Rich K

Lets please don't get into politics. IF ya'll must you can start a thread over in the watercooler talk section and hash it out. There won't be any groundbreaking ideas or ideologies. I have my political views just like everyone else. This isn't the place for them though. I think Richard S's question is legit though. A question about Bunning running an autograph scam is board-worthy. Would like to hear more about it...

It's not really your money their collecting - it's your childrens' money and your grandchildrens' money. Oh, and a pretty good chunk of it comes of late from the Chinese and Arabs as well.

BTW, back on track. My ancient mother was a school kid in Cleveland in the late 40's - she can still recite the team by position. She never made it to a series game, but they used to let them listen at school on the radio. I think Feller still lives in a little town called Gates Mills, Ohio.

Default Although I get the feeling Ted is a bit to the right

He posted NOTHING about political views in this thread about Senator Bunning. The only thing he posted were:
How many signatures and career records, nothing wrong with that.

I suggest we drop the political issue immediately.

If you wish to discuss whether Bunning was a better pitcher than Luis Tiant or Mickey Lolich or Wes Ferrell (to name a few and include a Pre-War pitcher) now go ahead and discuss.

Regards
Rich
