One of my favorite paintings is this one of the Polo Grounds (circa 1950) by the well-known artist, Stevan Dohanos.

This painting is in the Hall of Fame and was also featured on the cover of the April 22, 1950 Saturday Evening Post.
Its realistic effect gives me an instant flashback to my youth, when I was at a New York Giants game.

Was the guy in the rolled up sleeves Steve Bartman. Is the player Moises Alou? Artist left out the famous Bartman head phones. LOL

Great idea for a thread Ted --the painting room at the HOF is one my favorite spots in the museum.
Here is a sampling from my collection.

This is a mural that a friend and local artists did in my baseball card room. It is of some of my favorites and is 10ft by 9ft.

Corey

"Great minds think alike"

Many years ago I saw this painting by Stevan Dohanos in Cooperstown and I searched for a copy of it. Eleven years ago,
I acquired this Saturday Evening Post that featured it on its cover.

The Polo Grounds enkindle some very fond memory's from my youth........

I saw Bobby Thomson's "shot heard around the world" in the 1951 NL Playoff game.

Also, saw Willie Mays' great catch in the 1954 Word Series. And, many more such sweet events.

Best regards,

TED Z

I'm puzzled by the cartoon, didn't his head get bigger than anything else?
