Steven Finley I just wanted to take some time to thank all the regular visitors to this site. I'm in my early 20's and was a young ripe collector in the great depression of baseball cards (87-93). When I got to high school I gave it up. I discovered girls, parties, and the guitar; my love for the hobby ceased. Now I'm deep into college and after hanging out with my future nephew and his nice collection (for a youngster), I've rediscovered how much I missed the thrill of just having THAT CARD in your hand. I just jumped back into collecting about two months ago and I'm falling in love with pre-war. T206's and 33 Goudey's are becoming an obsession. I do what I can on a bartender's salary but I love it. I love refreshing ebay every few minutes. I love checking the mailbox four times a day just looking for a bubble mailer. I love the feel of a slabbed card in your fingers. I mean I'm watching Letterman right now and I'm wishing Keith Olbermann would talk some vintage baseball and not politics!!! When I found this site I spent hours reading back posts and threads. Hearing some of you guys describe your collections is enchanting. Almost as if the Lionel Carter's of the generation are all congregated here. The emotion elicited just from aging cardboard is mesmerizing. I came across the whole "signed t206" controversy and it engulfed me like a good book or classic movie. (Sorry I took Paul's side.) Don't hate me! It's all in good fun. I just wanted to say thank you for this wonderful escape from life, classes, and work. Good luck with everyone's collection and once again thanks for the quality content of Net 54.
P.S. I'm getting married in a week and a half. Wish me luck and does anyone know any good hobby shops in Vegas? I convinced her to honeymoon there.
