I just received a card in the new GAI holder. The label is more scan friendly and the black/white contrast is a nice upgrade. |

There are multiple threads that sum up the board's collective views on GAI. |

They are like this Jason. But actually I don't think I ever owned a GAI slabbed pre-war card that didn't say first graded...since they received so few submissions would have been hard to get a second graded. This one has been freed from this holder since. |

Sorry I cannot pick out old threads about GAI holders from search posts, both by match and date - I tried "GAI holder" - I tried just "holder" - few others - no luck. |

For clarification the "1st graded" on GAI holders means that it is the 1st card in that series, of a particular player, to be graded that specific grade. So that E98 McGraw, 1st graded in a 1 holder, is just that...the 1st Mcgraw E98 graded by GAI in a 1 holder....they will then have an E98 Mcgraw in a 1.5 holder, and so on, as the 1st graded too. Until I understood what their methodology was I wondered why there were so many "1st graded" cards...Hope this helps a little....regards (btw, it IS MONDAY |

So, if that's the case, Steve, then I would think that no, there should actually be a discount for a card labelled as "first-graded" because they are actually calling out their inexperience in looking at each particular card! |
