PSA pop report help

Can anybody confirm for me the pop report on a 1895 Mayo Shindle? I had thought there was one 6, and nothing higher...also thought there was four cards in the set that were graded higher than a 6...but I've had somebody tell me I'm wrong on all of this....if anyone else isn't seeing what I'm seeing please let me know so I can correct things. thanks.

Hi Dave -
Pop report shows 4 total graded.
2 that are between a 1 and 2, and one 6.
That makes only three so I would guess the
4th would be in an authentic holder.

On line pop report shows two Shindles graded "1-2", one graded "6" and a total of four (which I suppose means one graded "authentic".)

Total cards from the set are:

Grade (Population)

1-2 (76)
3-4 (68)
5 (25)
6 (16)
7 (2)
8 (2)

Total (207) (18 Authentic, I'd guess)

Thanks Jim. That also confirms where I thought there were 4 cards in the set graded higher than a 6.

By the way, The four are: Anson and Tucker (7's) and Glasscock and Nichols (8's).

Hi Dave,

I own a Mayo Shindle in a PSA 5 OC. Maybe because of the OC, it didn't get grouped into any of the categories on the Pop Report?

One thing I figured out a few weeks ago is that you can actually share the pop reports with other people. After doing a search on a specific set, and the report comes up, at the bottom is a link to view a printer friendly version. After clicking on that, it opens up a new page. The address of the new page can be given to anyone to view. Here's the one for the 1895 Mayo set:

Usually in these situations I click "Send", then "Send page as email" (from the browser File menu of Internet Explorer) and email the whole page to yourself, or others. Often beats having to select the text, copy and paste somewhere else, and losing the formatting.

SGC has graded 12 total N300 Bill Shindle Mayo's Cut Plug, including 2 SGC 70's.

Usually the argument in support of the PSA pop reports is that they have graded far and away more cards than SGC. With the N300 Shindle card at least, it appears the opposite is closer to the truth.

And there are 9 registered N300 sets on the SGC Set Registry, including 3 at 94% or higher completion.

That's 7 more than PSA, and neither of the two at PSA have more than 73% completion.

Given all of this, what is the possible relevance of a PSA population report for N300s?
