Seriously, I would like to know a little more about the companies that distributed many of my favorite issues, like Contentneas, Bishops, & the Louisiana issues. Anyone know where some info on them might be found?

I am very curious to learn more about the Louisiana issues, who produced them, where, exactly when, factory names...any info about the Louisiana companies would be welcomed. I live in the state, probably near where these cards were produced, I just don't have m/any specifics.

Who issued the anonymous caramel issues - E98, E101 and E102.

Even more than that, how can it be we don't know? People started collecting decades ago, and how is it possible that not one person one time ever asked a parent, aunt, uncle, or grandparent what product these cards came with?

Or maybe they did ask. Maybe the people they asked didn't know or didn't remember because they were young at the time - like they could remember seeing them, but not from where.

are there only 6 Square frame cards in the T204 set. I know all 6 have a connection with Mass. but there are other players who are found with the oval frame who played for Boston. I still say there are others out there besides the 6.

I guess the world may never know...

Are the thin papered e97 b/w's proofs...or a separate set? How was the cobb/cobb back distributed? The 21' herpolsheimers...just one set? Why? How many 33' lajoie's were sent out? The questions are infinite...and that's a good thing or we'd have nothing to talk about!

I'd like for folks to realize that the Metropolitan Studios posters of the 1931 World Champion St. Louis Cardinal players would have been a 1932 issue. I have the original envelope, but it has no stamps or cancellation. I think that the folks who have postmarked envelopes would be able to show their dates, then we could see that these cards/posters were put together after the World Series, and available early in 1932. I could be wrong about that, but I don't think the set was produced before the series was over.

Why is there only one known example of the N172 Cap Anson in uniform? As the pre-eminent player of the era, there should be more that were made/survived.

If I am not mistaking there are about 4 known copies of the Anson in Uniform, N172. A few board members have one and I think there is one in a museum collection. Others on the board will know the exact details but I am close. Regardless, I don't think anyone knows why it's so scarce...and that, I think, was the question....regards

why does the "Van Dyke" (i think thats what it says) stamp/logo that appears on some M101-2 prints stand for? And why isn't it on ALL M101-2s?
