I sat down and figured out exactly when the E97 blank backs were going off tonight on ebay and timed it around the Twins game on ESPN2 and the Florida-OSU game. What I forgot was that all day long for some stupid reason all the computer clocks were jumping ahead an hour and we had to manually set them back, then 40 minutes later, they would do it again, etc. Not just mine, all of them in the office. Never have done this before. Anyway, I go up around 9:30 to get ready for the auctions thinking I will buy 3 or 4 at around 10:00 pm and they went off at 9. ARRRRGGGGHHHHH! That stupid clock at work threw me off an hour in computing the time. Sheesh! So Alan, Gary, Steve and the rest of you guys, you got a break. Frigging computers!!! |

After missing out on most, I was able to grab one 97 and a couple of 93s. I haven't seen the 97s before. Anyone know if these were recycled or were they cut from a recently sold sheet? If I'm not mistaken there was an uncut 97 sheet in a recent auction. |

Yesterday was the traditional Daylight Savings Day start. Congress passed a one month increase for this year in an attempt (some would say misguided) to save energy. The increase is 3 weeks in the spring, 1 extra week this fall. Many computer clocks, as well as other gadgets' clocks are all preprogrammed for the old switchover dates. So be prepared for this confusion again around Nov. 4th. |

This might be a reason to never snipe, and to bid seriously a day or two before the auction ends. |

Frank the problem is that no matter how seriously and strong you bid, someone will always snipe you. The best 10 cards I have bought in the last couple of months were 5 bought on the BST or from 54 posters, and 5 were snipes. I was 0 for ebay on posting strong bids and trying to hold on. |

Why did these go so low - was it because of the time change or b/c blank back? I just don't really care for blank backs for some reason, and seemed to think I remembered an uncut sheet selling at recent auction as well. So although they didn't interest me, I still thought they'd go for more than they did. |

I thought a couple of the cards looked trimmed to me. Especially like the E93 Cy Young which is the one I was interested...just a wavy border. Anybody keep from going higher because of that? |

What did the cards all go for? With them not being graded no way for me to look up on them... |

Go to ebay advanced search. Put in e97. Completed items only. They are all there with the prices. |

I am glad to see some of you feel as I do about the way these auctions ended. I never have placed any reserve on any of my auctions and don't plan on starting. Although, this group has left a bad taste in my mouth. As most of us do, I count on the snipe bids to elevate final prices. They generally come through. I have a large group of T206 raw/graded HOF's, SL's, and variation cards running right now. I hope I can respond to this thread with a little joy next week. Please feel free to go ahead and just bid on this group. I will thank you all in advance. Happy Easter Everybody! |

Welcome to our board. I wish you well in your auctions. Per the board rules we don't let folks put ebay auctions on this main page, unless it's something extraordinary and we decide to let it go. You may post your auctions in the correct category on the Buy/Sell/Trade pages, the link at the top of the page is where you will find those places....and please post in moderation. You might read the forum rules if you haven't. Once again, nothing personal and welcome to the board.... |

Glad that you aren't placing a reserve on your lots. When I see a reserve, I skip right over an auction. They usually end higher when starting low with no reserve, no matter what the value of the lot. |
