It's been several months since we had one of these. It's always very interesting to see ages and occupations. This will no doubt be a long thread so try to keep it brief and without too many scans......

45 yrs old(young)...but feel between 15-75 depending on the day

I'm a retired Electronics Engineer, who designed much of the hi-speed data communications Modems
that we are presently communicating over. I worked in Research & Development at AT&T - Bell Labs
for 27 years.

I was a Radar & Electronics specialist in the Air Force and also a Tech. Instructor. Also, taught College
courses on Analog & Digital electronics in civilian life.

I'm very lucky, my Wife is very supportive of my BB hobby. I have two Daughters and three Grandchildren.

I'm 26 and a Machinists Mate (mechanic) in the US Navy. My current job has me doing all the planning phase of jobs (research, parts aquisition, writing of work procedures, etc.). I'm currently stationed in Italy and I'm having a great time travelling throughout Europe.

I'd also like to thank everyone on this board who has helped me obtain "new" old cardboard. Believe it or not, it's not that easy to find vintage American cards in Italy.

Edited to add: I'm originally from Louisiana... any Tiger fans out there?

30...I do bookkeeping for both a residential property management company and a construction/engineering company. I collect whatever cards interest me in the price range that I can afford. While my budget guides my acquisitions, I put most of my efforts into learning about these old cards and baseball history in general. When I'm pulling in more money I'll be able to go after the cards I really want.

Just turned 24 exactly one month ago(Feb.21). I have been a college student off and on, and next quarter, or at the latest winter, will resume studies again. I have been wanting to complete A BA in business admin., but recently have been giving some thought to lawyering too. I've been working as a server at a well known restaurant for a little over a month, but over the last couple years mostly as a table games dealer at casinos. I also am a serious athelete, and have competeted and won, both a bodybuilding show and a powerlifting meet. I love the individualism of the sports, challenging yourself on a daily basis to improve yourself. I've wanted to play college baseball for the last few years, many of my high school teamates play(ed) on local college teams, but unfortunatly the time you have to commit to the team would mean i wouldn't be able to work and thats not feasable. I love playing ball and always could hit for power, and id love to see what i could bring to the plate since putting on 25 to 30 solid pounds of muscle since high school, but i guess all i can do is imagine until i strike it rich

I live in Peterborough, NH. "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder is based in Peterborough (Grover's Corners). We also live in the shadow of Mt. Monadnock, the most climbed mountain in the world. We, is my wife and 2 sons age 2 and 4. I like to tell myself the cards are for them, but of course they aren't allowed to touch them. I give them all the Yankee cards I can find and they give them to the dog. Go Red Sox.

Thinking about going to law school. It was one of you guys who said that practicing law is like "doing homework for a living." That is a very apt description. If you like doing homework you will do just fine.

I'm 52, practicing civil litigation in Silicon Valley with offices in San Francisco.

Born, and spent some 60 years in Manhattan, now in Virginia.
Played a little feetball, and quick visit to K- State (1950)
just before doing my gig with the Marines in Korea.

Did a little over twenty years of show biz in NYC.

Late 1960's did some real estate, did very well until market dropped in early 1970's.

Got onto the airlines, (American/United) 22 years.
Around 1982 I started checking out cardboard all over the country.
I was very fortunate to be able to do that.
I got to see a lot of cards, meet a lot of nice people, and had the choice of selecting what to buy, and for how much.
The coin also has two sides, I also saw some things that bordered on the super natural. ... fortunately, not that many.
I apologize for taking this much space. ... but you did ask.

Care Ethics,teaching physicians and other health care professionals. I've authored/co-authored/edited 13 books in the areas of ethics and psychoanalysis.

Collect baseball cards, autographs, photos, books, postcards, uniforms, - and to a lesser degree, US stamps, coins, vintage 45 & LP records (blues, jazz, R&B), Department 56 New England Village pieces, and model cars. And anything on silent film star Martha Mansfield. Or as my Mother (who didn't throw away my stuff) says - "Tom collects collections."

Was it really necessary to brag about the football tickets? I used to go to almost every home game from the time I was 14 or so until I left home. I've only been able to make it to one game since I joined the Navy (8 years ago). I plan on getting out in 2 years so if you're still buying tickets to LSU football games then I'll be the loud guy throwing ice at the other team's band. GEAUX TIGERS!

P.S. What's a Virgina boy doin' rooting for LSU?

If I came off as bragging, it was not intentional. I have spent a lot of time in the south (mostly New Orleans and the area) with family and friends and developed a strong interest in LSU. I applied and got in as an undergrad, but could not go because of financial concerns (out of state = more money than a VA in-state school by far). I make it to 2 games a year....I have been a fan for many years.
