Pronunciation of Lajoie..?

Talking to a fellow hobbyist the other night, I realized one of us wasn't even in the ball park.

He twanged "LA - JO (the J sound given a french sounding Je, as in Je m'appelle) - WAY".

I've always gone for a "LA - HO - EE".

Can anyone set me on the straight and narrow as to be prepared for future discussions with other collectors?
