Some of these 19th century trade cards are really great, and instead of hijacking Michelle's thread, I thought I'd start a new show-and-tell thread with one I just received in the mail. I've never seen these before, so I'd love to hear if anyone can tell me what it is. There's an ad-back.

PS. Seth, the card in your post is a H804-14 "Big White Shoes Series", they are not too common, but no rare at all.

I read that the ACC listed trade cards as H804, with only 9 sub-catagories. H804-9 was other, which must be a pretty broad catagory. Someone added more sub-catagories in another publication. These new designations seem to be what Frank uses. Anyone know what guide contains the additional catagories? Is there a listing of these somewhere online?

"Baseball Advertising Trade Cards" by Frank Keetz (1997, 83 pages) has listing of most all baseball related trade cards.

The "Checklist of Sets" go all the way up to H804-40 with a few sub categories as well. There is also checklists for "Single Cards with Titles", and "Single Cards without Titles".

The soft cover book is out of print as far as I know, and tough to find now. It took me a few months of searching for it before I found one on eBay a couple years ago.

The first trade cards "Score Another" is a H804-14 Big White shoes Series. It is a 9 card set made circa 1884.

You can still get Keetz's book. I received one several months ago from the copyright owner. Apparantly, Keetz sold the rights to the guide to a ephemera/ trade card dealer. I'll check to see if I still have his name, number and address.

And here are some of my trade cards: The first is a H804-38 An Accurate Barometer, second is H804-11 Cosack & Co., third is H804-10 Corner Clefs
