Barry - my suggestion is that you set the place and the time. Those that can make it will do so. Leaving it open sets you up for more suggestions and discussion than you are likely to want. Living in Virginia I'm not likely to be there but that's my 2 cents anyway. However if you're ever down in the Williamsburg area I'll set up a lunch/dinner etc.... |

I would make the choice, but because I live in a section of Brooklyn that is so rich in good and affordable restaurants- the street two blocks from me is known as "Restaurant Row" (Smith Street)- we almost always eat in Brooklyn and rarely go into Manhattan for dinner anymore. So I think there are Manhattanites who know the good places better than I do. And I don't think it's realistic to have it in Brooklyn, unless some steak eaters want to do the Peter Luger's route, or simply come into my Cobble Hill neighborhood where I know an endless number of great places. |

Michael- you seem to know the city better than I do. Why don't we go along the lines of something casual, not too loud, where we can enjoy some conversation and just have a nice evening. It doesn't have to be a four star restaurant, just a place to relax and have a good time. |

The week after next is fine, the restaurant sounds good, and I'm in. I'll wait for somebody to just pick a day and time (early might work well for most). Let's also see how many want to join us. Do we need a reservation? |

I think once you've got 6 or more people a reservation should be made. So far we have Frank, Mike, Barry, Joe and me for a weeknight at Payard. |

Why don't we say anybody who wants to join us has to let Jeff know by a certain day so he can make a reservation if necessary. Jeff, I'll let you figure that deadline. It's likely we will get at least one more. |

Jeff- the #4 doesn't go to 68th Street. The 4 and 5 go to 59th, and then you have to switch to the 6, which stops at 68th (Hunter College) and 77th. |
