the centering is "off" in the psa slabbed card but almost perfect (but blurry) in the reprint...

when in doubt, keep it!

The card isn't the same as the one in the PSA holder. There is a Jackson graded Gem mint by SGC i dont remember if its the 1914 or 15 though. In any case the PSA 8 card is worth a fortune, and probably sitting in a bank vault, not in a ebay auction with a 0 fb seller lol.

Talked to the guy 'George' on the phone.

I didn't notice the new slabbed scan. It wasn't there earlier this AM. Apples and oranges!..

'The top photo appears different because I use an old camera.' (he may have said old scanner).. At any rate, my new pal "Georgie" insists it's the same card in the auction. I'm gonna ask a collector from Kazakstan to place a bid. IF the ducks are lined up, make payment through *VISA or MC.


*As with that last seller of the Cy Young in a recent thread, I was able to convince this seller to open an account with PP. Now to call PP and confirm coverage/protection.

PS, Georgie will be listing a '52 Mantle shortly!

The seller is a kid and its a scam (IMO).

I wrote the guy Sunday and said I believe the card is in a PSA holder by the look of the picture, and asked him what grade is the holder??? And also asked to see better scans... directing him to go to Kinkos today and get scans.

He replied back (w/bad spelling) it is a PSA-8, and he would try to get it scanned (today), and send me the scans.

I wrote him back and said it is worth 10's of thousands of dollars if it is a PSA-8, so Id really like to see the scans, thanks, very interested.


Then he goes and sells to BORAT for $800.

Quick cash scam.

BTW this is the second time this card has been listed this month.

Edited to add...Just noticed he added a E145-1 scan of a card with different centering etc. ha ha.

I believe this is the same joker who listed a t-206 Honus Wagner and rookie Mickey Mantle about a month ago. He had the story that his Grandfather won the card in Las Vegas and then put the card in a trust fund until he (the seller) was 21. The seller said he was selling the cards because his wife was pregnant. After a few complaints, the auctions were taken down by eBay and then the seller was NARUed.

Sounds like him, he went so far as to IM me today on AOL, and sent me scans of other cards he has and one turned out to be a 1951 Bowman Mays with the word reprint still on the back. He also bragged that he has a T206 Wagner, and 2 of the E145 Jacksons, a 1914 and 1915,...after I asked him why he showed pics of a 1915 and then a 1914 in a PSA holder. His answer was that he has both and wanted to show both.

He also said he looks at Net54, and that Pete Calderon the president of Mastronet.com is his good buddy (sorry Pete, but thats what he said )

I read this board pretty often, but almost never post here. Interesting how old George got brought up; I'd been sort of following his dopey ebay exploits for awhile.

Sent in a 'Suspended User has Returned' report yesterday, and looks like it worked. I actually have a couple of his old ID's memorized, which came in handy.

Now let's see how long it takes for him to get back up and running with a Wagner or something...

Well, I like to troll around ebay in my spare time, looking for fishy listings, particularly autographs, but some cards as well. For a while, I maintained a list of sellers I was watching, and some of the IDs are kind of stuck in my head to this day.

I just sort of stumbled upon him some months ago, selling some high-dollar stuff under the name 1979george00.

He went NARU, resurfaced not long after as shudson58, basically same location and more valuables, then NARU again...

It became kind of a hobby for me for awhile, I looked over the card listings trying to find any new ID's, but nothing. Pretty much forgot about the matter until I read these threads about what certainly seems to be the same guy.

The guy I am talking about is from Alabama. He first listed a T-206 Honus Wagner card with a bullsh*t story about his Grandfather winning it in a card game in Las Vegas in the 1950's. The back of the card had REPRINT written on it and it clearly showed in the scan.

Not only that but his Graandfather was nice and thoughtful enough to put the Wagner card, along with a Cracker Jack Joe Jackson and Mickey Mantle rookie, among others, in a Trust Account for him. The scammer said he could not get the cards out until he was 21. He was selling the cards now because his wife was pregnant. NARU'd.
