This reminds me of the late night huckster shopping shows--the New York or New Jersey dealer laying it on thick.

Seriously, tell me, what are the chances that someone is at a card shop with a video camera when something like this is found? Seems like a sure-fire set-up scam to me. The dealer KNOWS he has that 1 of 1 card and then gets a video camera so that when one of his best customers comes in, the "shock" and "surprise" is captured.

Awesome pull, but does this guy record every pack opened at his shop? Those UD boxes come sealed, so they obviously re-created it, but cool nonetheless.

Watch carefully the opening of the box, keep an eye on his hands the first 1 second into it. Celophane has already been removed from hand side of the box.

No matter, it is a cool pull and for that kind of pull I guess second recreation is worth it.

other than the fact that they are single signed clipped signatures of both ruth and dimaggio, i dont see the big thrill...i could of put that framed item together if i had a signed check by dimaggio and one by ruth...it's not like the picture was signed by both of them...sorry, im not impressed, it did look fixed

Cobby, for me, it was all about Don West. I would watch just for the pure comedy value. My favorite was the night he "You have to be a complete and utter idiot not to buy this." Then the next night, he came back and made an apology for his statement. One of the funniest things I've ever seen, Don West trying to be humble, lol.

Money. In all likelihood, that guy is going to auction that off on ebay and cash in. it's like winning the lottery...hitting the jackpot in vegas. it essentially represents what modern pack ripping is all about for a lot of collectors...gambling.

and the pack i believe is/was $300. I cant imagine paying that much for a pack of modern cards. value doesnt hold...collectibility is saturated and contrived...and chances of getting a good card are minimal. i once spent $15 on a pack a few years ago...got like 6 cards...one of which was a tom brunansky auto. nothing against brunansky, but i felt like a clown after ripping that pack and gaining only 15 seconds of transient excitement. i could have bought an in and out burger with some of that money and i would have felt much more satiated.

I was a little more excited about a few cards in top loaders in the background. I think I saw a 1993 Andre Dawson Score Pinnacle!

... um, yes, staged, and really "explative" annoying.

I did take the time to note the name of the shop, he mentioned 7 times, so I can take the neccessary actions to avoid it.

Yeah- Don West was a crackup. Especially at 3AM PST after many, many cocktails...

I think they're closing these things out at about $50/box these days.
