Alcohol only enhances two "sports": bowling and pool. If Babe wasn't a drunk he might have hit more dingers; if he wasn't a pitcher for a couple of years he might have hit 100 more. Who knows... |

It's you. Same with pool IMO. You just think you're better when you drink. |

A pint or two helps with darts also, and as far as I know it is the only sport in which alcohol is typically consumed during high level professional competitions. |

I'm sure cards look undergraded with a little alcohol. |

They always look overgraded to me after drinking. They look fuzzy with round corners and pictures out of register. |

Of course in that massive thread it could have been missed... I didn't sense any racial overtones and feel this is one of the least macho and sensitive forums of all the Sports boards I've visited. In fact, I posted a delicate item at one time and was rapidly called to task by several (and hopefully pardoned). Personally, I believe McGwire, Sosa, Bonds and any other junkie, regardless of skin type, if not banned then should be stopped at the Hall doorstep by Selig. And although I am a huge fan of JJax, Landis made the right call boldly. |
