Darren: Have you ever seen a Steinfeldt W555 ? The only 555 I have. Not pretty but interesting none the less. I can't imagine too many of them survived.

All Phillies with a emphasis on the following: Sherry Magee, Jack Clements, Kitty Bransfield and Eddie Grant are four of my favorites.

Other cards I just seem to acquire a lot of because I like them are Lena Blackburne's, I love the fact that the mud used to rub up the ball is still a closely guarded family secret.

Remarkable players, first three being among the leagues best for up to two decades with the last, Lady Baldwin, having a remarkable short career.

My favorites are Tony Mullane and Louis Sockalexis.

Mullane was the best pitcher of the 1880's and a sure 300 game winner if he was also not the first player to sit out a year because of a contract dispute. He was Terrell Owens and Roger Clemens all rolled up in one person in the 1880-90's.

Sockalexis was quite possibly the best baseball player of all time but only had about 3 months to show it before alcohol and injuries took over his life. There is no more interesting life story in all of sports than his in my opinion.

Tony Mullane, because of his supposed good looks, had one of my favorite nicknames of all time: "The Apollo of the Box."

However, as a teammate of Fleet Walker's in 1884, he refused to listen to Walker's signals and pitched whatever he wanted without Walker knowing what was coming.

Obviously Gary Gaetti is a name that should be on EVERYONE's list. The guy is the all-time leader in Triple-Play participations, not to mention a Gold Glove award and at least one selection to the All-Star Team. I mean, how many times did "Homerun" Baker ever make the All-Star Team. Or get a Gold Glove Ward for that matter? Speaking of overrated, what kind of world do we live in where Honus Wagner is so highly heralded for "skills" he exhibited during baseball's infancy, when there's pro's who showed real skill for the game in the 70's and 80's that will never make the Hall. I'm talking Gary Carter, Dave Parker, and, of course, Gary Gaetti. Gossage knew what he was talking about!

Homerun Baker had as many Gold Gloves as Honus Wagner and Ty Cobb!
