I got an M116 Sporting Life Nap Lajoie (blue background) back from PSA today graded 4. The problem is that the top of the card seems to have been "pinched" under the spacer that helps protect the card from touching in the corners in the holder. It looks like the card moved when they were sealing the top half of the slab to the bottom half. It won't shake loose and slid down because it is wedged under the plastic piece at the top of the opening. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a pretty good chance that there is an indentation in the top of the card now? I have a scan, but am not sure how to post it here (Newbie). Thanks in advance for any advice. |

I would call PSA and explain the problem and see what they say. Don't try to crack it out yourself or tap it down as you may damage it. |

You know, a lot of you talk about getting your cards graded just to "protect" them. What ever happened to the plastic slab? As I remember, they tended to be pretty thick, though). |

Bruce, I love that Weaver...even though the value has been cut in half due to the poor slabbing. Please sell it to me. |

I had a slab problem like Bruce's on a T206. I was able to tap it down. It did not cause any damage, but I obviously wanted to get it out of that holder. I brought it to the National with a scan like Bruce's and PSA apologized and had it reholdered in about 3 minutes. |

The Weaver was an auction lot I won in a Mastro auction. I don't know who sent it in for grading, or when, but it obviously left Mastro's in proper shape and then it bounced around during shipping. Mastro packs things in a very secure manner but no amount of protection can prevent slippage if the "coffin" if ill-designed. I liberated Buck from his tomb with no apparent damage. |
