Are Psa holders on t206's guranteed not to have the card move in the case because I have a walter johnson with a lot of slippage.

I doubt that there is any waranty that it won't slip. I wish there was b/c I have a t206 pattee psa 4 that moves out of the viewing area when it is turned upside down.

As far as holders go I really prefer PSA's simplicity.

Both SGC and GAI use gaskets which could cause the card to slip and possibly damage the card.

then again I also dislike half grades so what do i know!

i've seen cards slip in PSA, SGC, and GAI holders.

as for which holder is the safest, i have no idea. although i've seen far fewer SGC graded cards out of place, it occasionally does happen

I think you are drinking the psa koolade if you think that your cards that shake around in the holder or bounce around in the psa condom are not sucseptable to being damaged.

Im very confident that my cards wont get damaged.

I dont care much for the asthetics of the holder. If i could choose how to improve a holder it would be adding UV protection to the plastic, making the holder tamper proof beyond the crappy "frosting" and somehow making them scratch resistant.

The paint shaker experiment is an excellent marketing ploy and does win over those that wish too be and those that do not understand the physics of a paint shaker vs. dropping a slab from 4 ft i.e. standing position. The paint shaker does not exhibit the extent of a direction force that is experienced when a slab impacts on a corner, which can and will cause damage to a card. I damaged two PSA 9 cards back in 1999 by accidently dropping them from a standing position. They hit the concrete on a single corner and both cards were damaged. I was never comfortable with the loose fit of the cards, but that incident single handedly moved my business to SGC. The half grade system, customer service, consistency and increased trust were icing on the cake.

Did you buy that card from me? Ebay handle is dander11274. If so I feel bad, I had a submission that I sold on ebay and if I rember correctly the Pattee had this prob. I would like to pay to have it reholdered if this is the case. Let me know.

I think the old PSA holders are the ones with the problems. I thought they fixed this problem by creating a proper holder for the T-series?

what are you talking about? The experiment was done by a collector acting on his own , he made different experiments and didnt have an agenda at all.

BTW you drop any holder to a concrete floor and anything could happen.

Will's right - I've seen cards slip in both holders, too. I had a 57 Topps Snider in a PSA holder that slipped, and I emailed PSA - within just a few hours I had a response from them, giving me the go-ahead to send the card back to be reholdered for free. No headaches whatsoever.

Like it or not, cards have size tolerances that are not all 100% uniform, which may result in the occasional card slipping a bit in the holder. Not much point in indicting the grading company over it. It's unfortunate, but it happens.

I have no problem with the occasional ill-fitting card/holder; it's the holders that are ten sizes too big for the card, which is slipped into a condom surrounded by sponges to hold it in place that bugs me. At least TRY and care what the card presents like, you know?

Seems the obvious reason why a t206 wouldn't fit the holder properly, the card is possibly trimmed. This tends to be the case with high grade cards.

my T206 Mathewson is graded by PSA as well and it has a little bit of slipping room from side to side but not much. How much does urs slip ?
