I saw a E300 1912 Plow's Candy Cobb in the last Mastro aution. I was an underbidder, but blown away by this card. It is the first Cobb photograph, whch captures his athleticism. I would love to trade or purchase this card if anyone knows where I could obtain one. Thanks, Powell |

I appreciate that, but I am intersted in comments on this card as well. I had never seen one before and understand it is very rare. Isn't this an appropriate topic? If I am out of line I apolgoize. I am very impressed with this forum and want to be a help contributor and follow all appropiate etiquette. |

That's fine about wanting comments but that's not really what your initial post said, I don't think. We just try to keep the board fairly tidy with our wants and sales.....thanks for understanding and carry on... |

I should have been clerer and found the buy/sell area and posted there. I am very interested in anyone who has information on his set. All of the cards from this set in the last Matro auction were extraordinary, particularly the Cobb and Wagner. Anyone who has information about this set who would post would be very much appreciated. |

I had never seen the Wagner before the Mastro auction. I would have to rank it as one of the most beautiful cards I've ever seen. I believe it shares its photo with the Max Stein postcard, but somehow looked even nicer. |

Just imagine playing a day game in that black flannel uniform on a balmy 90 degree, 90% humidty day in Chicago. |

There are at least 69 Plow cards in the set. Eddie Plank should be added to the checklist. |

I'd love to add it to our checklist but without proof, I would not do so. |

Here is the Plank. I obtained this card from my uncle, veteran collector Don Schlaff. He acquired the card back in the 1970s and from the limited research he could do, believed that it was what he termed a "chase card" (i.e. purposely limited to force kids to buy the candy to complete the set). My uncle has a very limited recollection of the facts surrounding the card now, and I have not been able to track down any information to back up his theory. Given that all of the Plow cards are very scarce, this might just be another newly discovered card in the set and of no additional scarcity. |

That you have inherited your uncle Don's willingness to help others. When I first started getting serious about the hobby in the mid 1970's, his uncle always ran ads about helping beginners and I'm not too proud to admit that I took advantage of his offer (only did it once) to send free cards to help any and all beginners. |
