Dennis, you can collect Black Sox memorabilia in any fashion you wish. Though the focus will almost always been on Joe Jackson, Buck Weaver and other banned players, there are no rules and different Black Sox fans collect in different ways. A 1919 Reds yearbook or season pass would be popular at marked due to the association ... Interestingly, one of the gamblers involved in the fix was a man named Abe Attell. Attell was earlier a great boxer, world champion and there are quality boxing cards and other memorabilia for him ... |

Ray Schalk is widely collected from "true Black SOx fans", just check his price when items go for sale. His Cracker Jack card is a classic. |

doesn 't work for me, but it may for you..whimper...): the new commissioner (Landis), the owner (Comiskey), the magager (Gleason), the gamblers on cards because of sporting activities (Burns and Attell), Ray Schalk, the Sox' great catcher (because one of the charges against them read "conspiracy to defraud Ray Schalk"--(I can just see him, yelling at his pitchers, having a fit...), Eddie Collins (big and well-paid star who did nothing in the Series), Dickie Kerr (pitcher, not in on the fix, who won two games...photos of all of them, and a World Series ticket stub from the 5th game. |

The Black Sox World Series was a historical event, and there were many actors and side stories in the story. There's no rule one has to stick to the 8 players. You could collect items from the presiding judges and ticket taker if you wished. |

I do not collect the players who got banned. However, I did select a CJ Comiskey because he looks like the pompous heartless person that he turned out to be. Also t206 Gandil and Burns which to me shows them as contemporaries, and Attell. These to me constitute the heart of the conspiricy. The others are viewed by me as persons who were set up and used. |
