e95 Chance grading question

I know that this type of question has been rehashed several times, but I would like some advice. A while back I purchased an e95 Frank Chance PSA 3 from a fellow board member (for the life of me I don't remember who). I broke the card out of its case and decided to send it into SGC to graded to fit the rest of my e95 SGC set. The card was returned "Evidence of trimming" to me. My question is how many times would one send the card in to get graded to see if it finally does get a grade? I hate the fact that I broke it out of the case to find out later that it was trimmed. Opinions anyone? Should I just suck it up and realize that it would get graded?

Brian..because this has happened to me several times..I now send to SGC the cards that I want to cross over in their slabs(PSA, GAI) with instructions to crack them out ONLY if they are gradeable.
If SGC determines the card is not gradeable by their standards then you still have the card in its original slab. This is not 100% as once a card was cracked out then determined to be ungradeable.
I know this doesn't solve your current dilemma but should help for the future.

I was pretty upset about it because I actually thought that the card was OK. I still don't really see what they are talking about but I guess I never did sit down to measure the card out.

I am crossing over a number of cards to SGC and I do the same thing - send them in the slabs with a minimum acceptable grade - which now has to be equal to or less than the grade it rec'd in its current slab. I originally thought that this would be a detriment and that they would likely grade everything lower but was pleasantly surprised - so far most of my cards have come back with equivilent grades, two psa 4 t206's came back as sgc 60's, and 2 t206 psa 4's came back as 40's (and, admittedly, should have come back with the lower grade). I no longer see any advantage to cracking cards out of their old slab.

I hate having trimmed cards in my collection so I guess this one is off to Ebay. I'm sure that would have gotten much for it having been in the slab in case of having to say it is now trimmed. Oh well, you win some you lose some. Now I need to find another e95 Chance for my set

If you don't think the cards been trimmed then send it back to SGC in your next order and have them take another look. Sometimes after looking I agree and scrap the card, and sometimes I don't and it usually comes back graded the next time. Sometimes a weird cut can go back and forth.

Bryan- can you not re-submit it to PSA with a scan of the card in its holder and tell them that you cracked it out (avoiding the whole SGC issue) but now want it reslabbed?

is sgc the only company that would BUMP a grade up (it it seems to fit) during a crossover? I've heard of other cases where SGC would cross the card(s) over to a higher grade from PSA or GAI, while I've never heard of PSA doing the same thing.

As for the Chance PSA will not reholder the card because the case has been cracked. It's a nice card, put it up on ebay I'll be sure to bid on it.

I had a Cobb that was graded by SGC as a 40. The card looked better than that so I broke it out and sent it to PSA and got it graded at Exmt 6. I thought that it was a fairer grade than SGC's 40.
