Ever wonder what everyone on the board looks like? After a while you form mental images of people and it would be fun to see how the images match up to reality.

Unfortunately, the Witness Protection Program has strict rules about revealing distinguising features or I'd be happy to share..........actually Leon saw me briefly at the National but we didn't really know who was who then..............

I have had people tell me I look like Robert Redford.

The next morning after the liquor had worn off they told me I looked like Rodney Dangerfield.

I look like Jose Canseco when I'm pitching and Fred Gladding when I'm batting. When fielding I'm Pete Incaviglia and when coaching I'm closest to Billy Martin, but in a bad year. But I got a REAL Babe Ruth card in the mail today so I still feel huge.

A Mets fan asked me for my autograph on a plane last year. I politely asked him who he thought I was, and he said Todd Zeile. My wife doesn't see it.

She thinks I look like an ATM machine.

Actually, my picture (and even my dad's picture) is shown on my website.

to be all of your mothers and some of your grandmothers.

So don't you think I prefer to preserve my youthful image by writing like a ten-year-old and keeping my appearance to myself?

Lee:
Your brother said you were collecting them, and maybe I could give you some tips. Don't know about that, but have you ever noticed that almost all the T202s you see for sale or in an auction just happen to be the ones you already have? Also, there are so many things that can be wrong with a T202, it's really better to buy them at a show (WHAT show?), so neither you nor the dealer leave anything out.

I was curious about the fact that I have gotten to the point where I do not see the cards I need to often. I have 70 different. Is there more difficult cards that are not listed in the price guides?

I once had the whole set--minus one. The card I never saw was Chase Safe at Third with Baker. The photo is weird--close=up of two faces. I now have it, but had to sell more than half the set in the '80s, and now have 80 again.

The thing about the high priced cards is, dealers go out of their way to get them, so they don't seem scarce at all. The two Johnsons, Birmingham';s Home Run, the two Devlins with the Giants. And all the Cobs, of course. What I'm having a hard time finding is the "Just Before the Battle" COMMONS. I have all the HOF.

There aren't supposed to be any scarcities except Birmingham's Home Run (which I see everywhere), and the two Devlins with the Giants (Devlin Makes a Safe Slide and Too Late for Devlin). They used to think the Bates-Brecher card was scarce, but the price has returned to common.

I keep my T202s in modern size (comics) Mylar, cut off, or Mylar snugs, which I buy from Mark Macrae, because you have to get them in such large quantities
I couldn't afford them.

When I started re-collecting them, I told myself 1) no creases, 2) no off-center cards) 3) no back damage of any kind. Alas, I have all three, once in a while.

Julie

I have always been told I was a dead ringer for Chevy Chase. We now both have identical receding hair lines too. Personally I think I used to, but in the last 7 or 8 years I don't see it so much anymore.

Thanks for the info Julie. I have been able to pick up Birmingham's Homerun, but it is amazing how you seem to see the same cards all the time. Do you have any extras, I would be willing to trade some of mine. My grades vary from Nrmt (I think but who knows on these)to Good. I am going to send some to SGC to see how they come out. I have had 4 Bates/Beschers, I still have 2 that I am sending to SGC.

I don't know how to post a card. Said elsewhere how technologically challenged I am. Any 202 Baker looks like any other, so all you have to do is find a T202 with Baker on it (Collins Easily Safe, for instance). The two players in the center of Chase safe at third aren't either one of them Baker. He's on one end.

If you want to talk me through posting a cad, please do. I seem to have a Microtek SlimScan C6 scanner.

I thought the card had b&w close-ups of Baker and Chase in the middle panel. I don't have much experience with the t202 set.

No, I don't have any extras. The only time I do is when I buy one by mistake that I already have. Is that YOU? We got a digital camera for my grandson for Christmas, and while we were fooling around with it, my housemate took a decent photo of me. If that's really you, I'll post mine, too. Julie

Neither I, nor my housemate, who has been a computer programmer since 1964, know how to move my photo from folder to this website. It'd be sort of neat, since Lee is probably the youngest member of the board, and I'm probably the oldest.

I walked into a patient's hospital room once during residency and she said that I was the most beautiful doctor she had ever seen.

A significant finding on my exam of her was BILATERAL LARGE, DENSE CATARACTS.

for posting too many scans, and there was ANOTHER "What do you look like" thread, followed by "What do you look like 2". I saved them both--but it is the ONLY THREAD I ever saved in which all the pictures disappeared (like they do on the board posts after a week or so). Je suis desolee.

Remember Nickinvegas (great big guy) with his tiny little baby? A rather short Jay Miller shaking hands with a great big black guy (I guess we were all supposed to know who it was, but I didn't, and was too ashamed to ask)--I looked back, it was Jim Brown), a real punk-looking picture of Ben (with earrings)?, me looking pretty (for my age) in a blue tunic? Someone in a natural outcropping of rock, barefooted, his feet in what appeared to be a natural jacusi (Tim Sedlock in Argentina)? Jay B with blue and white face makeup and with beard, Scott Forrest in one of his Zeenut uniforms (SO cool!)? Patrick McMenemy fishing for brook trout in Maine, Rhett Yeakley with his lovely wife? Kevin Cummings with his graduating (Skidmore) daughter and his wife? Bob Craik, in the back row of a HUGE bunch of CPAs? Scott Mosley HOLDING THE STANLEY CUP? (nice to have friends in high places!) Tom Boblitt with a lei around his neck? David Rudd standing solumnly straight against a brick wall with a (mysterious) red stain on it? Brian Weisner playing golf with his dad? Alan (ockday) with his eldest grandchild? Lee B. floating down the Snake river with his ESPN hat? Jeff O with minor
league hockey great Gueyle Fisher? Halligator, making his first appearance on the Forum for YEARS, in the photo from a newspaper article, "Fans Pillage Field After Gators Steal Show"

Pete Calderon at the 2003 National in NJ, with Bill, Leon, Quan, Steve (Vorthian), Tim Newcomb, Elliot and Scott Brockelman?

I haveta confess...5-6 of the photos survived. They're still there!
